GoDaddy - Adding records

3min

We are going to cover how to add DNS records to your GoDaddy hosted domain.

First, ensure you pull your DNS records from the EmailRule domains page.

The EmailRule custom domin page with a domain titled "emailruletest.com" highlighted showing the 3 CNAME and 1 MX record value

Keep these open in another tab and navigate to GoDaddy and head to Accounts > My Products. This should open a page which shows your domains. Click on the "Manage" button next to your domain.

If you enter from a different path you should find where you can view all your domains. There should be a button for managing DNS.

Next click on the "Add New Record" button. We will need to add 4 records. 3 CNAME and 1 MX record.

The CNAME name fields should not include the domain name. EmailRule will provide something along the lines

You will only need to put

pjkp3esp3xfwhwp55e57gytjrixndnyf._domainkey

If your provider asks for a "Name" for your MX record use @. This is a catch all symbol

Once you add in your records and save you can head back to EmailRule. Propogation of DNS records can take up to 24 hours. We will monitor your domain every 15 minutes to check for status updated but if you think it should be done sooner you can refresh the status from the domain page.

Once your domain is verified you can head to the email addresses page and start creating immediately
